Dr. Daniel Amaning Danquah serves as the 6th Registrar of the Pharmacy Council of Ghana. A dedicated professional in the field of pharmacy, He pursued higher education (B Pharm. Hons, MSc & PhD  in Clinical Pharmacy) at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). He is a fellow of the Ghana College of Pharmacists and a Governing Board Member of many training institutions.

After registering as a pharmacist in December 1999, Dr. Danquah’s passion for advancing the pharmacy profession led him to join the Pharmacy Council in February 2000. His early career was marked by remarkable achievements, including his pivotal role he played during the decentralization effort of the Pharmacy Council.

Dr. Danquah’s commitment to professionalism and adherence to practice standards saw him swiftly rise through the ranks. He served as a Dep. Zonal Manager for the Ashanti and Brong Ahafo regions, and later as schedule officer, Premises Licensing and Enforcement Unit, then Regional Manager for the Greater Accra region. He also held the positions of Head of the Education and Training Department and Deputy Registrar of Operations. In all these roles, he demonstrated exceptional leadership and managerial skills.

His contributions extended far beyond administrative roles. Dr. Danquah was heavily involved in policy development and implementation, which was instrumental in shaping pharmacy education and practice in Ghana. He was involved in drafting accreditation policies for pharmacy education and played a key role in introducing the Doctor of Pharmacy Programme in the country, significantly impacting the education and training landscape of pharmacy.

Moreover, Dr. Danquah’s dedication to research and consultancy further solidified his reputation as a thought leader in the field. His involvement in monitoring projects and human resource assessments, funded by prestigious organizations like the World Health Organization, showcased his expertise and commitment to advancing healthcare in Ghana.

Dr. Danquah’s outstanding contributions have not gone unnoticed. In 2015, he received the Bill & Melinda Gates Fellowship for research scientists from middle-income countries. Through his tireless dedication and unwavering commitment to excellence, Dr. Danquah continues to be a driving force in shaping the future of pharmacy in Ghana and beyond.
