Regional Operations

Regional Operations Directorate (ROD) is one of the four (4) Directorates under the Technical Operations Division (TOD) of the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA). It provides inputs for the formulation of policies of the Authority.

The Directorate serves as a bridge between all other Directorates and Centres at the Head Office and all Regional Offices by coordinating all regulatory, administrative and financial activities and programmes in the 11 FDA Regional Offices across the country.

These offices are:

The Volta Regional Office,

The Ashanti Regional Office,

The Western Regional Office,

The Eastern Regional Office,

The Central Regional Office,

The Western North Regional Office,

The North East Regional Office,

The Northern Regional Office,

The Upper West Regional Office,

The Upper East Regional Office and

The Bono Regional Office

as well as the various satellite offices under some of the abovementioned offices.

ROD is mandated to:

  1. Ensure effective and efficient management of both human and material resources at all Regional Offices.
  2. Ensure effective implementation of all programmes and activities and management of resources at all our Regional Offices.
  3. The Directorate is responsible for the review of applications and issuance of the following certificates and permits from all the 11 Regional Offices.
  4. Food Manufacturing Facilities License
  5. Dry Food Storage Facility License
  6. Cold Storage Facility License
  7. Animal Product Storage Facility License (Meat processing, Food Hygiene permit Slaughter)
  8. Medical Device, Cosmetics and Household Chemical (MDCHC) Manufacturing License
  9. MDCHC Storage Facility License
  10. Food Hygiene Permit
  11. Drug Storage Facility License
  12. Street Food Vending Permits
  13. Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Facility license
