The Food and Drugs Authority’s (FDA) Human Resource Department has been adjudged the Best Human Resource Management in the Public Sector in Ghana at the 2019 HR Focus  Awards. The event was organized by the HR Focus Africa Magazine at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra on 11th October 2019.

The HR Focus awards which aims at growing and sustaining the HR image, has from 2017 brought together the Human Resource Heads of both public and private institutions. This year’s summit which was under the theme ‘Transforming the Face of HR Management in Ghana’ sought to develop a framework that would govern HR operations in a standardized format so as to help and manage the internal human resource of institutions.

On the night of the awards, the FDA emerged as having the Best Human Resource management in the Public Sector, exhibiting the most evidence of best practices that enhances the recognition of Human Resource Management in Ghana.

Apart from the FDA being celebrated, the award also comes in as a recognition of the excellent efforts made by the HR team in complementing the work of the Authority as well as improve on all its procedures to guarantee public health and safety.

The prestigious award was received by Mr. Bright Atakpa-Tettey on the behalf of Ms. Mary Mintah, the Head of the Human Resource Department of the FDA.

The Keynote Speaker for the event was Mrs. Patricia Obo-Nai, CEO of Vodafone Ghana, and notable among other dignitaries includes Mrs. Ellen Hagan, CEO of Laine Services, Ms. Hannah Ashiokai Akrong, HR Director of Vodafone, HR Director of Barclays Bank Ghana, Dr. Hazel Berrard Amuah, HR Director of Guinness Ghana Breweries Ltd. and a host of others.
