FDA SAFELY DISPOSES OF 50 CARTONS OF ADULTERATED COSMETIC PRODUCTS FROM NOUVELLE PARFUMERIE GANDOUR LIMITED

        

The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has in line with its recent recall of 41 cosmetic products adulterated with Mercury, Hydroquinone or Steroids, supervised the safe destruction of 50 cartons of different products from Nouvelle Parfumerie Gandour Cosmetics.

The Cosmetic Products batches which consisted of 15 cartoons of Bravia Unifying Body cream,20 cartoons of Pure Cocoa Butter and Honey Extracts, 5 cartons of Passionella Complexion Unifying Serum, 5 cartons of Passionella Brightening Cream and 5 Cartons of Tiatio Concentrated Serum were recalled by the Manufacturer and safely destroyed at the Adepa Landfill site, Nsawam under the Supervision of the FDA.

It could be recalled that the FDA issued a statement on some 41 cosmetic products that contained the prohibited substances on the Ghanaian market on the 25th of January this year.

The Head of Communications and Public Education Department of the FDA, James Lartey on his part stated that the Authority will not rest on its oars as far as Public Health and Safety issues are concerned thus the recall and safe destruction of the adulterated cosmetic products.
