FDA begins Regional tour to sensitize Staff on new brand position
Management of the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has begun sensitizing Regional staff on the new brand position of the Authority which is mandated by Public Health Act, 2012 (Act 851) to regulate food, drugs, medical devices, household chemicals, tobacco and tobacco products.
Staff of the Eastern Regional branch of the FDA on 13th June, 2019 were the first to benefit from the sensitization of the new brand position of the Authority.
Staff were further told that the Regional tour is to conscientize all staff on the rationale behind the rebranding. The rebranding led to change of logo of the FDA since the former logo was food and drugs biased. As regulation is dynamic, the new logo focuses more on a dynamic and evolving institution.
Mrs. Akua Amartey, Acting Deputy Chief Executive in charge of Cosmetics, Medical devices and Household chemicals who led the management team for the sensitization made the Eastern Regional staff aware that, as part of the rebranding, staff are required to live up to high standards as specified in the ISO 9001: 2015 that the Authority has recently been accredited with. She also stressed on the need for a better way of handling clients and relating to each other for effective regulation.
On his part, the Head of Administration, Mr. Jones Ofosu also added that the rebranding is expected to positively affect attitudes and work ethics; documentation and communication as well as discipline and therefore charged the Eastern Regional Staff to help the FDA to execute its duties to the zenith.
The management team will be visiting other regions nationwide on the rebranding sensitization.
