FDA CEO RECEIVES AN AWARD
Mrs. Delese Mimi A. A. Darko, the Ag. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has been awarded as one of the top sixty (60) corporate women leaders in Ghana. Mrs. Darko received the award at the First (1st) edition of the WomenRising Conference on Global Business Leadership dubbed, “The Women CEOs Summit 2017 and Awards Ceremony” held on Thursday, October 19, 2017, at the Movenpick Hotel, Accra.
Mrs. Darko’s award was in recognition of her selfless, outstanding, inspiring, hard-working and exceptional leadership she is offering to the FDA. Mrs Darko continues to work her heart out on daily basis to contribute immensely to the growth and development of the FDA as a token to a national call.
Speaking at the awards ceremony, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of The African Network of Entrepreneurs (TANOE), Mrs. Alice Larkai, in her welcome address, stated that the conference and awards are aimed at “empowering and sharing insights on building globally competitive businesses and honouring outstanding corporate women leaders in Ghana.” The Women’s CEO’s Summit, which is set to be an annual event, according to Mrs. Larkai, will continue to be a “congregation of women entrepreneurs and business executive on Global Business leadership” as well as to honour outstanding corporate women.
Dr. Mrs. Ellen Hagan, the founder and CEO of L’aine Services, presenting the key note address, charged women to live a “balanced life” as they strive to achieve more, especially in their various entrepreneurial ventures. She therefore encouraged all women among other things to “create time for themselves, limit time wasting activities, and have effective diet exercise regimes’. Dr. Mrs. Hagan further congratulated all the award winners and encouraged women to dare to venture into new areas
