The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) successfully concluded a five-day study tour for a four-member delegation from the National Drug Authority (NDA) of Uganda from February 9th to13th, 2026.
The benchmarking visit focused on strengthening institutional capacity through knowledge exchange in critical areas of pharmaceutical regulation. Participants engaged in comprehensive sessions centered on Human Resource Management and Quality Management systems, with particular emphasis on training frameworks, competency development initiatives, and strategic staff development approaches.
Building Regional Regulatory Capacity
Throughout the week-long program, the NDA delegation had the opportunity to observe FDA Ghana’s operational practices, engage with subject matter experts, and participate in interactive discussions designed to share best practices in regulatory excellence.
The study tour covered key topics including:
- Training and development program design
- Competency assessment and enhancement strategies
- Quality management system implementation
- Staff development and retention approaches
- Performance management frameworks
Strengthening African Health Partnerships
This collaborative initiative reflects the FDA Ghana’s ongoing commitment to supporting regional regulatory harmonization and capacity building.
