Monitoring & Evaluation

The Monitoring and Evaluation Division coordinates the process of planning and budgeting at the FDA. It is also responsible for monitoring and evaluation of the FDA’s annual programme of work and strategic plan. The Division ensures increased, and continuous improvement in performance of the organisation in executing its mandate as per Parts 6, 7 & 8 of the Public Health Act, 2012, Act 851.

MANDATE

The Mandate of the Monitoring and Evaluation is defined by the following Sections of part 7 of the Public Health Act, 2012; Section 82 (f) Functions of the Authority

SCOPE OF MANDATE

The Division coordinates the preparation, monitoring and evaluation programme of work, budget and donor-funded projects for FDA.

FUNCTIONS OF THE DIVISION

The Operational activities are as follows:

  1. Coordinate the preparation of the annual programme of work
  2. Coordinate preparation of annual budget
  3. Monitoring implementation of the annual programme of work
  4. Monitoring implementation of the annual budget
  5. Evaluation of programme of work implementation performance
  6. Monitoring visits for data verification
  7. Management of M&E data centre
  8. Prepare institutional presentations
  9. Representation of the FDA at relevant meetings at MOH
  • Representation at the Heads of Agencies and Partners Meeting
  • Representation at the quarterly budget committee meeting
  • Representation at the annual budget technical hearing meeting
  • Participation in budget projection workshops (compensation, revenue and expenditure).
  • Representation at the MOH POW preparatory meeting

The Division executes its mandate with the following operational units: monitoring and evaluation, budget and planning.
