He is the Head of Psychiatry at the University of Ghana Medical School and Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, Ghana.

After completing his basic medical course in the University of Ghana, he went on to train in Psychiatry at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, Nigeria, before returning to take up a teaching position in his old medical school.He also studied Substance Abuse in Cleveland, Ohio.

He is also a consultant psychiatrist for the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and the Accra Psychiatric Hospital, teaching undergraduates and training residents. Dr. Ohene has been engaged in delivery of and research into various aspects of mental health in West Africa for more than 25 years.

A member of the technical committee of the Mental Health Authority of Ghana and has written and made presentations on mental health in Ghana at many international meetings.

Dr. Ohene holds Fellowships in Psychiatry from the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons as well as the West African College of Physicians, where he has been chief examiner in Psychiatry.

He is a member of the American Psychiatric Association and the Commission on African Affaires of the International League Against Epilepsy.He also chairs the board of the Mental Health Society of Ghana.

Delese Mimi Darko graduated as a pharmacist and has a Master in Business Administration. Her 28 year carrier encompasses the regulation of food and health products, assuring quality and safety. She rose through the ranks of the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) to become its first female Chief Executive Officer in 2017.

Under her leadership in medicine safety, Ghana became a member of the WHO Programme for International Drug Monitoring in 2001, ensuring that medicines and medicinal products used in Ghana were safe for patients. In this role, Ghana also became the first country in West Africa and the 5th in Africa to have a National Centre for Pharmacovigilance.

She pioneered the regulation of clinical trials in Ghana and has grown to the point where Ghana is considered a leader in clinical trials in the West African sub-region.

Her hard work and effort with the support of a dedicated team positioned the FDA high among others in the sub region, resulting in Regulators from several African countries including Rwanda, Cape Verde, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Kenya, Tanzania, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Togo, Guinea, Gambia and Uganda paying working visits to benchmark Ghana in medicine regulation including herbal medicines, clinical trials, medicine registration and the pharmacovigilance system.

She was instrumental in the setting up of two expert Technical Advisory Committees for Pharmacovigilance and Clinical Trials, which comprise various renowned Ghanaians professionals with expertise in the varied fields of research, medicine and pharmacy to assist the FDB/FDA in their work. In acknowledgement of the Agency's global leadership and technical expertise, the WHO organized its annual meeting of Medicine experts in Ghana in early 2010.

The regulation of vaccines, Biotechnology-derived medicinal products, Advanced Therapy Medicinal Product (ATMP) Blood and Blood products was added to her portfolio in 2012/2013 and with a dedicated team of staff has initiated the nationwide regulation of whole blood, blood component, and blood products through the licensing of Blood facilities and listing of blood derived products prepared in the facilities in collaboration with the National Blood Service. This has made Ghana the only country in the Sub-Saharan Africa to have developed and implemented the regulatory framework for blood.

She led a collaboration of the FDA with the UK MHRA in the area of medicine safety; this collaboration is now multidivisional at the FDA with anti-counterfeiting as one of the key areas of support. In 2016 she and her team initiated the establishment of Patient Safety Centers in community pharmacies nationwide to ensure that patients are empowered to report the safety of medicines.

This initiative has helped create awareness of patient safety and improved the detection of counterfeit and substandard medicines in Ghana. In 2019 she led the FDA to launch the Med Safety App, an international mobile tool for drug safety that seeks to improve ADR reporting rates with the aim of improving patient safety in Ghana

As a result of her leadership the agency has attracted tremendous support from international partners like the UKDFID, WHO, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, GAVI, WAHO and the International Aids Vaccine Initiative (IAVI) among others

She led FDA's designation as a Regional Center of Regulatory Excellence in Medicines Safety, Clinical Trials and Drug Registration. During her service she contributed to the growth of research and of the local manufacturing industries in Ghana.

Her expertise has led to the FDA being nominated and recognized by the NEPAD/African Medicines Regulation Harmonization (AMRH) as a Regional Centres of Regulatory Excellence in three very critical areas namely Clinical Trials, Drug Registration and Medicines Safety (pharmacovigilance).

Delese Chairs the WHO African Vaccines Regulatory Forum and serves on several international and local committees such as the Medicines for Malaria Venture (MMV) Expert Scientific Advisory Committee (ESAC), the WHO Scientific Advisory Group for the Blueprint on Research and Development Preparedness, the Steering Committee for West African Medicines Regulatory Harmonization project and the Steering Committee for Medical Products Regulatory Systems Strengthening and Harmonization Initiatives in Africa.

She was appointed onto the WHO/ CIOMS Committee on Vaccine Safety to work with leading regulators from the US, UK, Europe, Canada, Japan and other countries to set standards for global vaccine safety.

In recognition of her excellent performance, the final meeting for that committee was hosted by the FDA in Accra in 2016, first time ever in sub Saharan Africa. She has frequently spoken at and chaired various sessions at international and local meetings.

She has received several awards for her exemplary work including the United Nations award for Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Disease, the Glitz Africa's award for Ghana Women of the Year Honors 2019 (Excellence in Health), the Ghana Business Standard Awards for the Female Business Leader of the Year 2019 and the advertising Association of Ghana Special Recognition award for her role in regulating the advertisement of FDA regulated products.

She is a devout Christian and married with two children.

Dr Joyce Dontwi is a Consultant Veterinary Surgeon, Ghana's first female Chief Veterinary Officer and Director of Veterinary Service. With over 30 years of experience in the field of veterinary medicine, pathobiology, avian and aquatic animal health, she is also an authority on issues of climate change.

She holds a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the Kishinev State University, USSR graduating top of her class, she also holds MSc. Bacteriology and Microbiology from the same institute and an MSc in Aquatic Veterinary pathobiology and Veterinary Studies from the University of Stirling, UK.

She holds several other certificates and diplomas from various institutions across the world in the fields of veterinary medicine and related disciplines.She is an astute scientist and researcher with many research papers published in reputable journals.

She possesses a desire to impart knowledge and has served over the last 5 years as parttime Senior lecturer at the School of Veterinary Medicine, KNUST.She is a member of a number of governing boards and councils including the Veterinary Council of Ghana and the board of the Animal Research Institute- Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR).

She is OIE- World Animal Health Organization delegate for Ghana, and has served in many consulting capacities for the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and World Health Organization (WHO). She has a unique passion for climate change and has been a consultant and representative for Ghana at the United Nations Framework Convention for Climate change over the last 10 years.

She is a Ghanaian national fluent in English, Russian, and possesses working knowledge of Dutch, French and Japanese.

Alexander Dodoo (BPharm, MSc, PhD, FPSGH, FPCPharm, FGCPharm) is the Director-General of the Ghana Standards Authority (www.gsa.gov.gh) and an Associate Professor at the Centre for Tropical Clinical Pharmacology, School of Medicine and Dentistry, University of Ghana.

He is the country representative to the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) and serves on the Council of the African Standards Organisation. He has worked extensively on the development of norms and standards especially in healthcare in collaboration with the World Health Organisation and the Council for International Organizations of Medical Sciences (CIOMS).

In addition to his work in standardisation, Prof Alex Dodoo is also a Scientific Advisor at the African Collaborating Centre for Pharmacovigilance (www.acc-afro.org) which acts as convening platform for safety surveillance in Africa.

He serves or has served on several local and international advisory, training and safety committees, including Member, WHO Advisory Committee on the Safety of Medicinal Products, Member, Access & Product Management Advisory Committee of the Medicines for Malaria Venture and Chairman of the Strategic Planning Group of the Global Vaccine Safety Initiative.

He is also a member of the WHO Expert Committee on Drug Dependency Disorders as well as a Member of the WHO Panel on Drug Evaluation. He was for two terms (4 years), the President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana and served as President of the Pharmacy Information Section of the International Pharmaceutical Federation.

From 2009-2012, Alex Dodoo served as the President of the International Society of Pharmacovigilance (ISoP) from 2009-2012.

He is the author/co-author of various manuscripts and full papers in peer-reviewed journals and has one book published titled: Healthy Secrets - a layperson's guide to health issues.

Pharm. Dr. Audu Rauf, is the fifth Registrar of Ghana Pharmacy Council. His appointment was effective 3^rd April, 2017. He holds Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Clinical Pharmacy and Master of Science (MSc) in Clinical and Social Pharmacy, both at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, KNUST, Kumasi, Ghana.

He obtained a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree (BPharm) at Ahmadu Bello University, ABU, Zaria, Nigeria, in 1991. Attended Kumasi High School for both Ordinary and Advanced levels.

Registered as pharmacist in Ghana in 1994, after internship at Komfo Anokye Teaching hospital, KATH, in Kumasi, Ghana, and continued working as pharmacist in the same institution until 1997. He was adjudged as the best worker at KATH in 1995, at the Pharmacy Department.

He joined Eli Lilly and Company, a multinational pharmaceutical industry, headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA, in 1997, as Medical Representative in-charge of Northern Sector of Ghana.

In 2000, he was engaged by Almirrall Prodesfarma, another multinational pharmaceutical industry from Spain, after service with Eli Lilly and Company. Again, in a similar role as a Medical Representative, with Kama Health Services, as country agent, until 2005. When he worked as the Superintendent Pharmacist/Manager of Kama Health Services, KNUST branch, until his appointment as the Registrar of Pharmacy Council, Ghana.

He is a Fellow of Ghana College of Pharmacists, GCPharm with membership of West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacists, WAPCP, American College of Clinical Pharmacists, International Pharmaceutical Federation, FIP, West Africa Drug Advisory Committee, WADAC, National Medicines Policy in Ghana, Drug Committee of Food and Drug Authority, FDA, and Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana, PSGh.

Had served as a technical consultant to World Health Organization, WHO, on Malaria case management in the private in high-burden countries, and Re-Act Africa on Action on Antibiotic Resistance, in Nairobi, Kenya. And serving as governing board member of Food and Drugs Authority, FDA, and Ghana College of Pharmacists.

Dr. Kofi Bobi Barimah was the Foundation Dean of the Faculty of Public Health & Allied Sciences at the Catholic University College of Ghana-Fiapre where he also served as its Dean from 2007-2013. He also served as the first Director of the Night School (now Weekend School).

He is currently the Ag. Executive Director at the Centre for Plant Medicine Research, Mampong Akwapem. Prior to this, he has been the Director of Research & Consultancy at the Ghana Technology University College for four years.

Dr. Barimah served as Co-ordinator of the Centre for Health Systems & Policy Research (CHESPOR) at GIMPA when he was appointed as a Visiting Lecturer during the 2014-2015 Academic year.

Before relocating to Ghana in 2003, Dr. Barimah had over 12 years experience in Health Promotion and community development in the non-profit sector both at the managerial and grassroots levels in Canada.

He was the Research & Profile Development Manager at the Ontario Association of Youth Employment Centres, Toronto, Canada. He served as the Ag. Executive Director of the Jane-Finch Concerned Citizens Organization; Centre Manager of the Rapport Youth Centre, Brampton, as well as a Course Instructor at Ryerson Polytechnic, Toronto.

He is currently a Contract Academic Staff at Wilfrid Laurier University, Canada and teaches Health and Psychology related courses. In November 2018, Dr. Barimah received an award for PROFESSIONAL EXCELLENCE from the Ghanaian News in Canada and received a citation from the House of Commons (Canadian Parliament). He is also the recipient of the 2002 YMCA Peace Medallion Award, Brampton, Canada.

Dr. Barimah obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Ghana, Legon; his Master of Science degree in Rural Extension Studies from the University of Guelph, Canada; his Master of Arts degree in Community Psychology from Wilfrid Laurier University, Canada; his Doctor of Philosophy in Public Health from the University of Aberdeen, United Kingdom.

He has research and teaching experience on three continents: Africa (Catholic University of Ghana, University of Ghana, GIMPA (Ghana), Ghana Technology University College) Europe (University of Aberdeen) North America (Wilfrid Laurier University, Ryerson University, Canada; University of Guelph, Canada).

He has several publications in health promotion and community development in peer-review journals coupled with presentations at reputable global conferences. Dr. Barimah is the principal author of the book TRADITIONAL MEDICINE IN GHANA (2018). He is the Editor-Chief of the International Journal of Technology and Entrepreneurship.

Dr. Barimah's commitment to both national and community service is based on the World Health Organization's indication that humankind's capacity to control our health becomes ineffective when we cannot bring basic resources, such as food, shelter, working conditions, and personal relationships under control. As a member of the Rotary International, he has continued to be actively involved in the development of any community that he finds himself in.

As an effective and strategic Fundraiser, he has raised funds for many educational institutions, NGOs and diplomatic missions such as the Ghana High Commission in Canada and the Mother & Child Community Development established by Mrs Theresa Kuffour, the former First Lady of the Republic of Ghana. Dr. Barimah is a member of the Canadian Society for International Health (CSIH) and the Canadian Coalition for Global Health Research (CCGHR).

He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of CCGHR where he also serves as a Co-Chair of the Sub-committee of Capacity Building Committee. Dr. Barimah was instrumental in the establishment of the CCGHR Ghana-Canada Country Partnership.

Dr. Barimah is currently a member of the Governing Boards of the Food & Drugs Authority and the Traditional Medicine Practice Council respectively. He is the National Secretary of the Ghana Psychological Association.

Nana Kwadwo Obiri, is an indigenous Traditional Medicine Practitioner with over thirty years' experience in Traditional Medicine Practice and the Herbal medicine manufacturing industry.

He is the founder and director of Obiri Herbal Research Centre and also the General Secretary of the Ghana Federation of Traditional Medicine Practitioners Associations (GHAFTRAM) which is the official mouthpiece of all Traditional Medicine Practitioners in Ghana.

He is the regional chairman of the Ghana National Association of Traditional Healers (GNATH) which is a mother/member Association of GHAFTRAM.

Before serving as a board member of the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), he served and still serves on various Boards and Committees of the Ministry of Health which include the first governing board of the Traditional Medicine Practice Council (TMPC) and the ministerial committee for the review of the recommended herbal medicines list.

Nana Kwadwo Obiri is also a traditional ruler and he serves in the capacity as Mbratehene of Nkonya Wurupong area in the Biakoye District of Oti Region.

Dr Alhassan Emil Abdulai is a Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon at the Korle Bu Teaching and also a Senior Lecturer and Head, Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Ghana Dental School, UDS- University of Ghana.

He is also a Consulting Dentist and Proprietor, K.A.E. Dental Clinic, East Legon Accra.

He is the Chairman of Council, Tamale Technical University. (TaTU) and a Member of Governing Board of Food and Drug Authority. (FDA)

Mrs. Martha Osei is a Project Manager and Team Coordinator par excellence; a Health Promotion, Health Advocacy and Health Communication expert with over 40 years field experience, covering public health communication program design, implementation, and evaluation. She is a sought-after consultant in Behavior Change Communication (BCC) strategy and material development, campaign design and management.

Mrs. Osei is a highly experienced and result driven manager for large donor/ multiple-partner supported communication projects, with an outstanding track record of achieving results in fast-paced, dynamic and resource-constrained environments. She also provides training, facilitation, and training manuals/materials development to many organizations. She is an embodiment of creativity, resourcefulness, innovativeness, visionary leadership, and effective management.

She is the CEO of the Communication for Development Centre which has consulted with several agencies since the completion of the USAID supported Behavior Change Communication project in 2014 and in her capacity as CEO has offered technical support to several individuals, teams and organizations to boost their communication strategies. She has participated in several meetings and conferences centrally related to behavior change communication and community development.

She was the Deputy Chief of Party/BCC Specialist for the Behavior Change Support (BCS) Project, Ghana and assisted the Chief of Party to oversee and manage the design, development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the 4 year $25- million USAID-funded Ghana Behavior Change Support (BCS) project, implemented by the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Center for Communication Programs (JHUCCP), in collaboration with the Ghana Health Service (GHS).

She is uniquely skilled to motivate and mentor staff/teams, possesses excellent interpersonal, communication, team and relationship building skills.

Mrs. Osei is a Ghanaian, married and blessed with 3 beautiful children.

Charles Tortoe is a Chief Research Scientist, Acting Director of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research-Food Research Institute and Associate Professor of the CSIR-College of Science and Technology affiliated to the University of Cape Coast, Cape Coast, Ghana. He completed his Ph. D (Food Science) at the University of Greenwich, United Kingdom. Professor Tortoe holds certificates in Post-harvest Technology, Food Packaging, Food Product Development and Marketing, Quality and Food Safety Management in Food Industry, Agri-business Development and Food Supply Chain Management from the Wageningen University, the Netherlands, certificate in Biosafety Assessment and Regulation of Agricultural Biotechnology from the Institute for Plant Biotechnology for Developing Countries, Ghent University, Belgium.

He is an accredited Technical Trainer and Service Provider for Grants Proposal Writing, Scientific Writing, Communication and Presentation by Author AiD (United Kingdom) and the Millennium Development Authority (MIDA) of the Millennium Challenge Account (USA). He is a certified Champion for Change in Scaling-up Food Security in Africa by US Agency for International Development. In addition, he holds several certificates on Leadership, Management, and Mentorship from Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), Accra, University of Ghana Business School, Legon and Management Development and Productivity Institute (MDPI), Accra.

His research works involves food processing and preservation of root and tuber, fruits and vegetables and cereals and legumes crops. Other works are on value added products, food security, food safety and quality control, HACCP, training, development and promoting farmers, processors, Micro-Small-Medium Scale and Large-Scale Enterprises.
He has worked on several projects including World Bank/GoG West Africa Productivity Programme (WAAPP-2A), DFID/Street Foods Project, WFP Process for Progress (P4Ps) Programme, EU/Cassava SME Project, CSIR-FRI/Waapp Yam Project, Millennium Development Authority (MIDA) of the Millennium Challenge Account, CSIR-FRI/TNO-Netherland's project, GIZ German Government Project, EU Gratitude Project, and Mitsubishi Research Institute Yam Project.

He is a member of several professional bodies and has authored and co-authored more than 310 Scientific and Technical publications consisting of Refereed Journal Papers, Registered Copyrights, Edited Conference Papers, Edited Research Reports, Approved Consultancy Reports, Technical Manuals, Brochures/Leaflets, Trainer of Trainer (ToT) Reports and Workshops Reports. He is a reviewer for Frances Taylor, Elsevier, Springer, Wiley Publishers, and journals including International Journal of Food Science and Technology, Journal of Food Quality, Journal of Food Engineering, LWT-Food Science and Technology, Journal of Food Processing and Technology, Food Review International and many other scientific journals.
